The Morey Fiscal Policy Initiative seeks an intern to assist with its annual summer survey of school support service contracting. Duties will include, but not be limited to, calling and surveying Michigan conventional public school leaders. The intern will also assist in other fiscal policy issues as needed through the summer.

Ideal candidates will possess strong and creative research skills and an interest in issues related to economics, education, labor, and government accountability. Excellent organizational and written and oral communications skills are required, as is ethical and professional conduct.

This internship provides an opportunity to work at the nation’s premiere state-based free-market public policy research and educational organization. Please note that a curriculum major in politics or economics is not required; students from all subject areas are encouraged to apply.

The employment term is a minimum of 10 full-time weeks between May and August. Interns are compensated at the rate of $10 per hour, and are employed on an at-will basis. Interns whose permanent address is outside a 30-mile radius of Midland are paid a housing stipend in the amount of $250 per month.
